I'm so excited to share some amazing news with you all today! A group of 20+ eastern indigo snakes were recently reintroduced to the wild in Alabama's Conecuh National Forest. This is a huge win for conservation efforts, as these snakes are a keystone species of the longleaf pine-wiregrass and sandhills ecosystem. This reintroduction program is an excellent example of what can be accomplished when different organizations work together towards a common goal. Here's to hoping that these snakes continue to thrive and reproduce in the wild!
